A brand that gives new life
The story
Vernal Biosciences supplies on-demand, high-purity mRNA, with a mission to democratize mRNA research and development. They believe that science matters more than ever, and that mRNA will open doors for science to change the lives of humans everywhere. As a start-up, they needed to build a brand identity and website to drive visibility.
The Challenge
We were tasked with building a strategic identity that captured both the potential of this technology as well as the spirit of optimism.
The Approach
Founder Christian Cobaugh, Ph.D. was heavily inspired by the nature of his Vermont location and by spring, the season of new life. He believes that mRNA is creating new ways of doing, thinking, and building—creating new possibilities. We designed a brand mark that shows twisting RNA strands forming a single circle to represent the philosophy of “giving new life.” It was complemented by a warm, earthy, and joyful color palette and imagery that reflects nature.

Our new brand materials will greatly help us increase visibility with clients, future hires, and investors. We now appear to be a more serious company that is well-organized.
